HALT/HASS Seminar
Alphatech in collaboration with QualMark ran a successful seminar on the 13th Nov 08 at the Stansted Airport Radisson Hotel, and completed a follow-up hands on session at the Alphatech laboratory (QualMark approved) the following morning.
Alphatech Business Manager Stephen Mathews said afterward "a big thanks to all who came, we appreciate the interest from the engineers who came, we had an interesting mix of potential users who were exploring HALT/HASS and some existing chamber users keen to exchange ideas and knowledge with their peers".
Thanks also to Ken Ryan of QualMark and our speaker Neill Doertenbach (independent expert) who enriched the seminar with "real world" information about clients and their use of "real world" client experience information and practical "how do we...answers".
Seen here Alphatech's MD shares a "testing story" with the group as he takes them through some of the business issues when moving into HALT testing for the first time.
HALT challenges some of the departmental boundaries between traditional R&D/Reliability engineering and Design engineering. Introducing HALT is a management/business issue as much as an engineering one. For companies considering HALT/HASS the ability to liaise with Worldwide leaders such as QualMark and European leaders Alphatech is an important advantage both technically & from a business ROI viewpoint.

HALT/HASS and other testing - Alphatech test house has the capacity to test with many different processes and equipment (left)
Product fixturing - HALT process. Flexi ducts ensure maximum heat transfer for cooling on the product.
QualMark - world leader on HALT/HASS with 800+ systems installed.
Alphatech - The QualMark European authorised laboratory operating their own chambers, supplying new chambers & maintaining client chambers.
